India conducts over 57 crore Covid-19 test so far: ICMR
The testing capacity has been ramped up extensively and so far India has conducted 57,68,03,867 Covid-19 sample tests, informed the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Wednesday. Of the total test conducted, 14,09,825 samples were tested on Tuesday.

85% of adults will get at least the first dose of vaccine by Oct-end: Govt
About 85% of the population above 18 is expected to receive at least the first dose of Covid vaccine by October end. According to an official, around 40% of adults is likely to be fully vaccinated by that time. Proportion of vaccination between the first and second dose is expected to change significantly from next month as a majority would have received at least one dose. “The going gets tough in the last phase, when a small percentage remain unvaccinated, but at the current pace, we are expecting more than 85% of the eligible population to get at least one dose. The second dose coverage is also increasing gradually. The average is already close to 50% of total doses now. It will increase further from November onwards,” the official said. At present, around 71% of the estimated 94 crore adult population has received at least one dose and 27% both the doses. Over 92 crore jabs had been administered till 7pm on Tuesday.
